Sandy beach with fine quartz-feldspar and limestone-flint sand at a gradient of 3%. The beach is protected by artificial emerged breakwaters. The distance between average low and high water (safe water limit) is 80 metres, with tidal range of 30–50 centimetres. The surrounding area is urbanised with railway line passage.

Location

Pesaro, Marche region, Pesaro-Urbino province, Italy. Located at the railway underpass at kilometre 240.270 on State Road 16.

Facilities

Part free beach, part concession area with equipped beach establishments. Dogs and other animals prohibited on beach during bathing season.

Water Quality

Classification E. Bathing water body Pesaro_Fano. Wastewater treatment: main treatment plant at Borgheria near Foglia river mouth with capacity of approximately 90,000 population equivalents and flow of approximately 20,000 m³/day with biological treatment. In the last 4 years, 24 annual controls of Table 1 parameters and 6 annual controls of Table 3 parameters were performed, all compliant with legal limits. Mixed urban wastewater collectors with disinfection stations discharge into Foglia river and Genica stream; some have been partially remediated through connection to new sewerage system.
