Cannetto Beach is a coarse-grained sandy beach enclosed by high, rocky coastal cliffs in the municipality of Riomaggiore. The beach is located along the Ligurian coast in a mountainous area with low stability. The water body is classified as excellent quality based on monitoring from 2008-2011.

Water quality classified as excellent (2008-2011). No coastal treatment plants, depuration facilities, or Imhoff tanks are present in the area.

Risks

Cyanobacterial blooms are not characteristic of the Ligurian Sea due to prevailing oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal strain proliferation have been recorded in the past four years.
