Donnalucata beach is a sandy beach located to the right of a small tourist harbour near the town of Scicli in Sicily. The beach shows signs of erosion with low rocky outcrops visible along the coastline. The beach is approximately 50 metres wide and is primarily used by local residents. The area experiences a dry subtropical climate with high summer temperatures and modest winter precipitation.

Mediterranean Sea (Canale di Sicilia). The water body is part of coastal tract 16 between Punta Scalambri and Punta Religione. The drainage basin is Bacini Minori tra Irminio e Scicli.

Location

Scicli, Sicily, Italy. The beach is situated to the right of the Donnalucata harbour. Coordinates: Y = 36.7645, X = 14.6314. The beach extends 0.4 kilometres along the coastline.

Facilities

The beach is described as freely accessible and equipped. A small tourist harbour is present. No municipal ordinances or signs prohibit access by animals.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. The area is subject to urban wastewater discharge after treatment at the municipal treatment plant via submarine outfall. Potential pollution sources include agricultural activities, urban development, and untreated urban discharges.

Risks

Heavy rainfall may cause overflow of treated wastewater into bathing water. No cyanobacteria proliferation or macroalgae/phytoplankton proliferation has been recorded in the last four years.
