Classification: Sufficient. Based on 21 routine samples collected between 2020-2023. Escherichia coli 90th percentile: 69.3 MPN/100 ml; 95th percentile: 94.4 MPN/100 ml. Enterococci 90th percentile: 290.0 MPN/100 ml; 95th percentile: 495.9 MPN/100 ml. The bathing area falls within the Orta 1 homogeneous zone with medium-high pressure classification, primarily due to high density of sewer pipes.

Risks

Heavy precipitation can trigger sewer overflow systems and cause accidental failures in pumping installations, introducing untreated wastewater into the lake. The Fiumetta stream flows to the right of the bathing zone and may carry untreated discharges during heavy rainfall. Potential pollution source: inadequate management of the sewer network.
