Santa Barbara is a sandy beach with a gently sloping seabed, bordered by low cliffs and located near the port of Marina di Ragusa. The beach spans 25 metres in width and extends 1.2 kilometres along the coast. The area experiences a dry subtropical climate with high summer temperatures and modest winter precipitation. The coastal region is heavily urbanised with significant population increases during summer.
