Mancina beach is a sandy beach with shallow, gently sloping seabed located near the port of Marina di Ragusa in Sicily. The beach is 40 metres wide and forms part of the bathing fraction. The coastal area experiences a dry subtropical climate with high summer temperatures and modest winter precipitation. The coast remains sandy until the Port of Marina di Ragusa.

Location

Ragusa municipality, Sicily. The bathing area is located near Marina di Ragusa port. Easy access. Beach width 40 metres. Coordinates: Y=36.7823, X=14.5513.

Facilities

Free and equipped coastal section. Animal access is not prohibited by municipal ordinances or signs. The area is used exclusively for bathing.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. Treated wastewater from the purification plant is discharged to sea via submarine pipeline. Potential pollution sources include intense urbanization, untreated urban discharges, and malfunction of the purification plant or submarine pipeline. White water discharge and overflow outlets have been identified. No anomalous situations have been recorded in recent years.

Risks

Abundant precipitation can cause overflow of stormwater conveyed into the bathing waters. No pollution sources are present within the bathing area itself.
