Spiaggia Verde

Italy Lake 1 - Excellent

Spiaggia Verde is a bathing area on Lago Santo, a glacial lake located 5 km from Cembra at an altitude of 1,194 metres. The lake is approximately 210 metres long and 15 metres deep. The beach is grass-covered and surrounded entirely by woodland. The area attracts swimmers, fishers, and hikers, with the European E5 trail and Sentiero Italia passing nearby.

Alpine glacial lake. Area: 0.7 square kilometres. Length: approximately 210 metres. Depth: 15 metres. Altitude: 1,194 metres above sea level. Basin: Avisio.

Location

Near Cembra, Trentino Alto Adige region, Trento province. Access is via strada provinciale 96 through footpaths or a forest road circling the lake. Approximately 20 residential dwellings are in the vicinity, mostly used during summer. One reception facility is present: Rifugio Lago Santo.

Rifugio Lago Santo (lodging available). Animals not permitted.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019). No specific pollution sources identified. No short-term pollution events detected. No anomalous situations reported in the last four years. New sewage network completed recently by the municipality.
