Mondragone, Caserta Province, Campania region. The bathing area is situated along a sandy beach with the Savone River mouth and associated coastal development.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2020–2023). The bathing water receives wastewater discharges from the Savone River mouth, which collects both treated and untreated sewage from municipal sewer networks of Mondragone and Falciano del Massico via biological treatment plant, and untreated sewage networks from Carinola, Francolise, Teano, and Roccamonfina via tributaries. A biological treatment plant with activated sludge serves Mondragone and discharges effluent via submarine outfall. A flood overflow is located at the river mouth area.

Risks

The bathing water is affected by the Savone River mouth, which receives numerous wastewater discharges from municipal sewer networks, some treated and some untreated. Wastewater sources include treated discharge from a biological treatment plant and untreated sewage from several municipalities via tributaries.
