Sveti Konstantin i Elena Large Beach is a bathing area located in the Sveti Konstantin i Elena resort complex on Bulgaria's northeastern Black Sea coast. The beach features a wide sandy shore with fine-grained sand. The resort area is highly urbanised, with the shoreline backed by high, steep coastal cliffs formed by marine erosion. The beach is 400 metres long and is accessible by private and public transport.

Location

Varna municipality, northeastern Black Sea coastal region, Bulgaria. The beach is located at the Sveti Konstantin i Elena resort complex, accessible by personal and public transport.

Facilities

Three lifeguard posts, sanitary facilities, showers, changing rooms, one medical station, accessible facilities for people with disabilities, waste bins. Dogs are not permitted.

Water Quality

Water quality classifications from 2007 to 2021 show predominantly good to excellent ratings. Years 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2014, and 2021 achieved excellent water quality. Years 2010, 2012, and 2013 met mandatory values rated as good or sufficient. Years 2015-2020 achieved good water quality. A potential source of temporary contamination is the Slunchev Den wastewater treatment plant (PSOV). Wastewater from the resort complex is treated at PSOV Slunchev Den, though it operates inefficiently. A project is underway to redirect wastewater to PSOV Varna via a gravity collector system.
