The Tra Grignano e Santa Croce Porto bathing area is located along the Trieste coastline in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. It features a rocky beach with a narrow strip of pebbles and is situated beneath steep coastal cliffs with residential pontoons. The bathing water is classified as coastal marine water and extends approximately 1.56 square kilometres.

Trieste, Friuli Venezia Giulia region, Italy. Coordinates: 45.714850°N, 13.702932°E. The area stretches from 45.719958°N, 13.697435°E to 45.711129°N, 13.710719°E.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (reference years 2015–2018). Escherichia Coli (90th percentile): 12 CFU/100 ml; Escherichia Coli (95th percentile): 13 CFU/100 ml. Intestinal enterococci (90th percentile): 14 CFU/100 ml; Intestinal enterococci (95th percentile): 22 CFU/100 ml. No variations in water quality were observed during the 2015–2018 bathing seasons. No cyanobacterial eutrophication events have been recorded. No toxic algal blooms or elevated concentrations of potentially toxic species have been detected.

Risks

The Servola treatment plant with submarine outfall represents a potential long-distance impact source. No short-duration pollution events were recorded in 2015–2018.
