Ulmbachtalsperre is a 6.7-hectare reservoir located in the Westerwald region at 362 meters elevation, surrounded by forests and meadows. The water body serves flood protection purposes and is situated 18 km north of Weilburg and 15 km southwest of Herborn. The reservoir has a maximum depth of 11.7 meters and an average depth of 5.5 meters, with water supplied by the Ulmbach stream from the north. The bathing area features a 38-meter sandy beach with a gently sloping non-swimmer zone, concrete-paved shallow water area, and a jetty with ladder providing access to the swimmer zone. The remainder of the shoreline is predominantly wooded.
