Water quality classification for 2024 conducted according to Decreto-Lei 135/09 of June 3rd, as amended by Decreto-Lei 113/2012 of May 23rd. Sampling frequency: 1 sample per week. No short-term pollution events (less than 72 hours) occurred in the 2024 bathing season.

Risks

Potential microbiological pollution sources include diffuse sources upstream from agricultural, forestry, or domestic activities; solid waste from beach activities; and high number of users. Likely potential for proliferation of cyanobacteria. Less likely potential for proliferation of macroalgae and phytoplankton.
