Villa Erba Ex Galoppatoio

Villa Erba Ex Galoppatoio is a bathing area on Lake Como located at the southern end of the western branch on the western shore. The beach is stony and situated at the mouth of the Breggia stream, with an area of approximately 50 metres. The site is used exclusively by the Cernobbio Sailing Club and also serves windsurfing and kayaking activities.

Cernobbio, Como province, Lombardy region, Italy. Elevation 202 metres above sea level. Beach width approximately 50 metres.

Facilities

The beach is used exclusively by Cernobbio Sailing Club. Windsurfing and kayaking activities are available. Animals are permitted access.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as Good for the reference period 2019–2022. No cyanobacterial threshold exceedances have been recorded in the past four years. No toxic effects on swimmers or aquatic life have been documented.

Risks

Possible pollution causes include adverse meteorological conditions with severe weather events, land runoff, water stagnation, and various spills. Possible accidental or unauthorised discharges of sewage or polluting debris have been identified as a potential source. No cyanobacterial blooms or macroalgal proliferation events have been recorded in the past four years.
