Location

Imperia, Liguria region, Province of Imperia, Italy. The bathing zone is positioned to the east of the Prino Torrent.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008-2011). The Ligurian Sea is characterized by oligotrophic conditions. No cyanobacterial blooms have been recorded. No potentially toxic algal strains have been documented in the past four years.

Risks

Emergency discharge conduit present at the mouth of the Prino Torrent. Identified as a pollution source. A modeling approach for characterizing short-duration pollution events is under development.
