La Playa is a bathing zone in Borghetto Santo Spirito, Liguria, characterized by predominantly sandy beaches with the presence of piers and a partially submerged tombolo. The Varatella stream discharges into the sea to the east of the bathing area. The zone is classified as excellent based on water quality monitoring from 2008–2011. Private beach facilities and accommodation structures are available in the area.

Water

Coastal waters of the Ceriale–Finale body. The bathing zone covers an area of 0.969 square kilometres. The area is characterized as low-stability mountain relief coastal waters.

Location

Borghetto Santo Spirito, Savona Province, Liguria region. Private beach facilities and recreational structures are located in the area. The Varatella stream outlet is situated to the east.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008–2011). Identified pollution sources include the Patarello treatment plant, an active discharge pipeline, and the Varatella stream outlet. Cyanobacterial blooms do not occur in the Ligurian Sea due to predominantly oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal strains have been documented in the past four years.
