Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008-2011). No wastewater treatment plants, coastal outfalls, or Imhoff tanks are present in the area. Cyanobacterial blooms are not characteristic of the Ligurian Sea due to predominant oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal strains have been recorded in the past four years.
