A rocky coastal bathing area located 150 metres north of the San Biagio stream outlet. The beach is situated in an area characterised by tourist reception structures and a railway line passing through. The distance between medium-low and high water levels at safe waters limits is approximately 80 metres, with an astronomical tidal range of 30–50 centimetres.

Water Quality

Classification E. A mixed public sewer system serves the area, connected to a treatment plant with a capacity of 40,000 equivalent inhabitants. The plant is a biological activated sludge facility located at C. da Salvanone in Fermo. Treatment plant monitoring in 2006–2007 showed good efficiency with COD, BOD5, and suspended solids parameters conforming. Microbiological controls in 2008 and 2010 were compliant. One control on 28 August 2009 recorded non-compliant E. Coli levels at 120,000 CFU/100 ml due to a malfunction in the plant inlet conduit.

Risks

San Biagio stream discharge located 150 metres south of the bathing area. A malfunction in the treatment plant inlet conduit in August 2009 resulted in elevated E. Coli contamination.
