A fine-sand beach located at 850 meters south of the San Biagio stream mouth in Altidona. The beach has a gentle slope of 3% and is protected by artificial rocky cliffs. The distance between mean low water and high water (safe water limit) is approximately 80 meters. The beach is about 40 meters wide and surrounded by tourist accommodation structures and a railway line.

The plant serves approximately 2,000 inhabitant equivalents in winter and 7,500 in summer. Wastewater discharge is continuous and consists of urban effluent. COD, BOD5, and suspended solids parameters were consistently compliant in 2006–2007. Microbiological controls in 2008–2010 were compliant.
