A rocky coastal bathing area located in Altidona, Marche region. The beach features a rocky shoreline with approximately 80 meters between medium-low and high water marks. Astronomical tides range from 30 to 50 centimeters. The surrounding area includes tourism reception structures and a railway line passage. The water body is part of the Porto San Giorgio–Grottammare hydrological unit.

Rocky coastal water body. Distance between medium-low and high water marks: approximately 80 meters. Astronomical tide range: 30–50 centimeters. Receiving water body is a stream tributary of the Aso River, Aso hydrographical basin.

Location

Altidona, Marche region, Fermo province. Contact: Comune di Altidona, Largo Municipale 1, 63016 Altidona. Tel. 0734 936353. Classified as Category C bathing water. Area extension: 0.28474 square kilometers.

Water Quality

Classification: E (poor quality). Wastewater treatment: The area is served by a mixed public sewer connected to a biological treatment plant with activated sludge type, capacity 9,000 population equivalents, located in Marina di Altidona. The plant serves approximately 2,000 population equivalents in winter and 7,500 in summer. Discharge is continuous with urban wastewater including domestic and industrial effluent. In 2006–2007, the treatment plant showed good efficiency with COD, BOD5, and suspended solids always conforming to standards. Microbiological controls in 2008, 2009, and 2010 were compliant. Pollution source identified: San Biagio stream discharge into the sea approximately 300 meters north of the bathing area.

Risks

Continuous discharge of treated wastewater via mixed sewer system. San Biagio stream represents a short-duration pollution source.
