This bathing water profile encompasses a sandy beach extending from the southern boundary of the Foce Reno military firing range to 200 metres north of the right branch of the Reno Canal. The southern portion is protected by three emergent breakwaters, each 80–120 metres long and spaced approximately 30 metres apart. The northern section features a pine forest behind the dunes, while the southern section has public and private service installations. The beach width ranges from 70–80 metres and is in equilibrium with no active erosion.

Location

Ravenna province, Emilia-Romagna region, Italy. The bathing area is located 200 metres south of the Foce Reno military firing range boundary and extends to 200 metres north of the Reno Canal outlet. Coordinates: centre at 12.2847°E, 44.5602°N.

Facilities

Four bathing establishments with first aid services, toilets accessible to people with disabilities, hot showers, no architectural barriers, sports facilities, and food and beverage outlets.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (reference years 2015–2018). Escherichia coli 90th percentile: 16 CFU/100 ml; 95th percentile: 18 CFU/100 ml. Intestinal enterococci 90th percentile: 10 CFU/100 ml; 95th percentile: 10 CFU/100 ml. No direct discharges or watercourses enter the bathing water profile. No short-term pollution events recorded during bathing seasons 2015–2018.

Risks

Proliferation of macroalgae of the genus Ulva occurred in the central-northern coastal section during July–August 2018. Raphydophyte phytoplankton (Fibrocapsa japonica) and cyanobacterial blooms have not been reported. No anomalous situations were recorded during bathing seasons 2015–2018.
