MT 25 SUD MOLO PORTICCIOLO is a sandy beach located in Martinsicuro, Abruzzo, in the Tronto-Riccio coastal water body. Some beach establishments rent skates and canoes to customers.

Season

Monitoring period: April to September annually.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. Monitoring conducted annually by ARTA of Teramo from April to September. All wastewater from the area is conveyed through a separate sewer network to the treatment plant located north-east of the municipality. No evidence of discharges of untreated wastewater affecting bathing water.

Risks

Marine waters in the Abruzzo area have not presented characteristic cyanobacteria blooms. No events of macroalgae and/or phytoplankton proliferation or potentially toxic species have occurred. Sparse algal blooms occur in summer months; past years showed some dinoflagellate blooms with scarce or absent toxic species.
