The beach is approximately 200 metres long with varying width of 5–10 metres and features sand substrate. Water depth within 500 metres is under 5 metres. The beach is situated in close proximity to Aabenraa town and is fully connected to public sewerage systems.

Water

Location

Located in the innermost northern part of Aabenraa Fjord, in close proximity to Aabenraa town, Denmark. UTM coordinates: 527663 (x), 6099474 (y), EUREF89 reference net, UTMZone 32N.

Season

1 June to 31 August.

Water Quality

Aabenraa Roklub has not yet been classified. Water quality is assessed based on faecal bacteria concentration levels, with possible classifications being: excellent quality, good quality, satisfactory quality, or poor quality. Classification is calculated based on regular control samples collected over four-year periods and is revised annually before the bathing season begins.

Risks

Risk of cyanobacteria blooms, typically occurring after rainy periods followed by warm weather. Large quantities of macroalgae (seaweed) can accumulate at the water's edge. Short-term pollution may occur during heavy rainfall and wind due to potential sewage system overflows, stream discharge, and surface water runoff, typically lasting a maximum of three days. Occasional pollution from leisure boat accidents, slurry tanks, and sewage pipes is possible.
