Vallone Arena is a sandy beach located at the mouth of the Rio Arena in Montecorice, in the Salerno province of Campania. The bathing area is characterized by a sandy shoreline with urbanized zones to the north and semi-natural environments to the south. The water has been classified as Excellent based on monitoring results from 2020 to 2023.

Location

Montecorice, Salerno province, Campania region. The bathing water is located at the mouth of the Rio Arena (coordinates: 40.2325°N, 14.9538°E). The municipality of Montecorice is located at Via Duca degli Abruzzi, 15, CAP 84060.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (based on monitoring years 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 according to Legislative Decree 30.05.08 n. 116).

Risks

Three wastewater treatment plants discharge into or near the bathing area: one biological treatment plant with active sludge discharging into the Rio Arena at Case del Conte; one at Agnone with submarine pipeline discharge; and one at Capoluogo with submarine pipeline discharge.
