Blidstang Vig

Blidstang Vig is a natural beach located a 5–10 minute walk from Løveroddervej through Stenderup Forest, offering peaceful views over Lillebælt. The beach comprises fine sand, small and medium-sized stones, and grass, with a small fireplace. The beach is 100 metres long and classified as excellent quality for bathing water.

Water

The beach faces Lillebælt and is classified as brackish water. Water depth increases rapidly from the shore, exceeding 2 metres at 50 metres from the coast. Current direction is variable.

Location

Near Løveroddervej in Stenderup, accessed through Stenderup Forest. Facilities including toilets, rescue equipment, and a café are located 300 metres north at Løver Odde Strand.

Water Quality

Bathing water classified as excellent quality in 2020, based on routine samples collected over four years (2016–2019) analysed for E. coli and enterococci indicator bacteria. A minor stream outlet south of the beach is not assessed as influencing water quality.

Risks

Low risk of cyanobacterial (blue-green algae) blooms and phytoplankton blooms, though both can occur. Risk of seaweed (macroalgae) wash-up in the water's edge. Glass shards and litter can occur. Sudden contamination possible from accidents involving pleasure boats, slurry tanks, or sewage pipes. Depth changes with tidal movement.
