Lake Constance (Bodensee) is the third-largest freshwater lake in Central Europe, shared by Germany, Switzerland, and Austria without fixed borders. The FKK Hard bathing area is located on the Austrian shore of this large alpine lake. In the late 1970s, the lake faced eutrophication due to untreated sewage discharge, but extensive wastewater treatment infrastructure expansion in the catchment area reversed this trend. The lake now maintains good ecological status with balanced nutrient levels.
