Boller Mole badebro is a bathing jetty located on the south side of Horsens Fjord in Denmark. The jetty is approximately 100 meters long and features two ladder access points to the water. The seabed is sandy and muddy with occasional larger stones, sloping gently toward deeper water. At the end of the jetty, water depth is approximately 2 meters at normal water level. The bathing water is classified as Excellent.

Water

Horsens Fjord. Salinity approximately 1.8%. Water is generally still near the shore. Seabed is lightly muddy with sand. Water depth at the jetty end is approximately 2 meters at normal water level.

Location

Located on the south side of Horsens Fjord near Boller Mole. Accessible by bicycle and on foot via Bollerstien. A car park is available on Boller Slotsvej, approximately 550 meters away, with access via forest road through Boller Skov.

Facilities

Bathing jetty with two ladder access points. One access point at the end of the jetty and one midway. Beach and jetty are inspected during sampling visits.

Water Quality

Bathing water is classified as Excellent (designated in 2022). Classification is based on data from the preceding year and three previous bathing seasons. Regular monitoring shows sustained excellent quality. Water visibility is measured during sampling.

Risks

Cyanobacteria blooms can occur, typically after periods of heavy rainfall followed by warm weather, causing water discoloration and foam. Large quantities of macroalgae (seaweed) can accumulate along the shore; bathing is not recommended near large accumulations. Glass shards, fishing hooks, waste, and chemical pollution including oil spills can occasionally occur. Water clarity should be checked before bathing.
