Camping Lago Azzurro is a sandy-gravelly beach section in Dormelletto on Lake Maggiore in the Piedmont region. The beach is privately accessed as it serves an extra-hotel facility. The bathing water has been classified as Excellent based on routine sampling from 2020 to 2023.

Showers, toilets, food and beverage service. Animals are permitted in early morning and evening hours.

Water Quality

Classification: Excellent. Based on 18 routine samples from 2020–2023. Escherichia coli 90th percentile 74.1 MPN/100 ml, 95th percentile 112.3 MPN/100 ml. Enterococci 90th percentile 105.8 MPN/100 ml, 95th percentile 185.7 MPN/100 ml. A weir and pumping station are present within 200 m of the sampling point. The wastewater treatment plant is located approximately 5 km from the monitoring point.

Risks

Intense rainfall can trigger overflow structures. Accidental failures of pumping stations can introduce untreated effluent into the lake. High-pressure class from elevated density of sewage pipes in the area. No cyanobacterial monitoring is performed. No macroalgae or phytoplankton proliferation has been detected.
