Løvvænget is a bathing area located along the coast near Rungsted Havn in Denmark. Swimming occurs directly from the shore, though primarily from private bathing piers. The seabed consists of alternating sand, gravel, and stones with some soft patches. Water depth reaches approximately 2 metres about 100 metres from the shore. The area experiences minimal current and low water movement.

Location

Located south of Rungsted Havn in Hørsholm Municipality, Denmark. Public transport is available via Bus 388 along Rungsted Strandvej. The beach areas are privately owned but public access for bathing is permitted.

Season

June to August (bathing season for monitoring and sampling purposes).

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as good for the Løvvænget bathing area. At least 10 water quality samples are collected during the bathing season from June to August. A water quality forecasting model is available on badevand.dk and as a smartphone application.

Risks

Sewage overflow from coastal drainage systems is possible during heavy rainfall; caution is advised regarding water quality during heavy precipitation events. Risk of blue-green algae exists when water temperature exceeds approximately 20 degrees Celsius for extended periods. Bathing is not recommended if feet are not visible when water reaches knee depth.
