Fredheimvej (Bækrenden) is a bathing area with satisfactory water quality. Swimming occurs directly from the shore, though primarily from private bathing piers. The seabed is variable, consisting of sand, gravel, and stones with occasional soft bottom patches. The area experiences frequent shallow water, with a depth of approximately 2 metres reached about 100 metres from the shore. Current is weak or stagnant.

Location

Located south of Rungsted Harbour in Hørsholm Municipality. Bus 388 serves the area via Rungsted Strandvej. The areas are privately owned; access and temporary stays such as bathing are permitted. Visitors are asked to respect private properties and show consideration to residents.

Water Quality

Water quality is satisfactory. At least 10 samples are taken during the bathing season from June to August. A water quality prediction model is available via badevand.dk and as a smartphone app, though the model is not yet precise for this specific area; general water quality information is available for the area south of Rungsted Harbour.

Risks

Overflow from sewage systems along the coast may occur during heavy rainfall; water quality should be monitored carefully during heavy precipitation events. Blue-green algae risk exists when water temperature is high (approximately 20°C) over an extended period; bathing should be avoided if feet cannot be seen when water reaches knee level.
