Corniglia is a coastal bathing water located in the Cinque Terre area of Liguria. The beach features high rocky cliffs and coarse granular sand backed by a railway embankment. It is part of the Cinque Terre Marine Protected Area. The water has been classified as excellent based on monitoring data from 2008–2011.

Location

Corniglia is located in the municipality of Riomaggiore in La Spezia province, Liguria. The Riomaggiore municipal office is at Via T. Signorini 118.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008–2011). There are no coastal wastewater treatment plants, settling tanks, or Imhoff tanks present in the area. Cyanobacterial blooms do not occur due to oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal strains have been recorded in the past four years.
