Guvano is a bathing beach located in Vernazzo, Liguria, within the Cinque Terre Marine Protected Area. The beach is situated along a high rocky coastline and is enclosed by two cliff faces. The water body is classified as coastal waters with mountainous features and low stability.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008–2011). No sewage treatment plants, coastal outfalls, or Imhoff tanks are present in the area. The Ligurian Sea is characterised by oligotrophic conditions.

Risks

The Ligurian Sea is not characterised by cyanobacterial blooms due to predominant oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal strain proliferation have been recorded.
