Stazione FF.SS. Corniglia is a bathing water area located in Vernazzo along the Ligurian coast. It features a rocky coastline with a coarse gravel beach situated against a railway embankment. The area is part of the Cinque Terre Marine Protected Area. The beach has a coarse grain size composition and the surrounding zone is characterized by mountainous terrain with low stability.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008-2011). The Ligurian Sea is characterized by oligotrophic conditions. No coastal sewage treatment plants, Imhoff tanks, or discharge conduits are present in the area.

Risks

River mouth (Rio Molinello foce fluviale) identified as a potential pollution source. Cyanobacterial blooms are not characteristic of the Ligurian Sea due to oligotrophic conditions. No cases of toxic algal strain proliferation have been recorded in the past four years.
