Dalby Strand

Dalby Strand is a child-friendly beach located at the end of Dalby Strandvej, featuring a sandy bottom and shallow water that extends far from shore. The beach has a green recreational area with a few trees and is suitable for swimming with excellent water quality. The area experiences low risk of cyanobacteria blooms and macroalgae, with such occurrences rare and typically following several days of calm, warm weather.

Water

Brackish water (salinity 1–2%). Sandy bottom with shallow depth extending far from shore. Water flows in the direction of the wind.

Location

Located at the end of Dalby Strandvej. Parking available approximately 100 metres from the beach with capacity for many vehicles. Fjordstien path runs past the area on the summer house roads.

Facilities

Toilet facilities installed in 2021. Parking available. No lifeguards. No disabled toilet facilities. No bathing platform. Kitesurfing permitted.

Season

Official monitoring season from April to October. Dogs permitted on a leash from April to October; dogs may be off-leash from October to March if under control.

Water Quality

Excellent water quality classification (category 4). Monitoring station 117 collects 5 samples per bathing season. Low risk of cyanobacteria blooms, occurring rarely during extended periods of calm, warm weather. Low risk of macroalgae and phytoplankton blooms, though seaweed may occasionally appear. During heavy rainfall, potential minor influence from wastewater, with impact duration dependent on rainfall volume and current and wind conditions (up to 3 days following the event).
