Dragsbjerg Strand is a 200-metre-long beach located on the island of Enø in Karrebæksminde Bay, east of Enø village. The beach is 10 metres wide and consists of sand with small to medium-sized stones scattered evenly across it. The seabed extends with similar composition. The beach is situated in a scenic natural area with rolling landscape and high cliffs on both sides, with Enø Overdrev nature reserve to the southeast.

Water

Brackish water in Karrebæksminde Bay. Water depth rises gradually offshore, with depths under 2 metres within 200 metres of the coast. Current direction is variable, primarily from the east.

Location

The beach is located on Enø island, east of Enø village in Karrebæksminde Bay. Access is via Enø Kystvej, which leads to a car park at the beach.

Facilities

Car park at the beach. Waste bins at the car park. A notification sign for poor water quality is present.

Season

1 June to 1 September.

Water Quality

Classified as Excellent quality for 2020. The classification is based on routine monitoring samples from 2016–2019 testing for E. coli and enterococci indicator bacteria. The beach meets required standards.

Risks

Drain outlet at the car park may contain high concentrations of faecal bacteria during rainfall. Low risk of cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) blooms. Low risk of phytoplankton blooms. Risk of macroalgae (seaweed) washup in the waterline. Glass shards and litter may occur on the beach. Very low risk of chemical pollution. Sudden pollution from incidents such as boat spills or sewage leaks is possible.
