Drejet is a bathing beach located approximately 6 km from Faaborg on a peninsula extending into the South Funen Archipelago. The primary bathing area is 300–400 meters long and consists of coarse sand and small stones, becoming finer closer to the water. The beach has a gentle slope, with water depth reaching approximately 1.5 meters after about 16 meters from shore. The beach is westward-facing and surrounded by recreational areas, summer house developments, and agricultural land.

Water

Coastal bathing water in the South Funen Archipelago. The beach is 300–400 meters long. Water depth increases quickly, reaching approximately 1.5 meters at 16 meters from shore. The seabed is characterized by large and coarse stones. Current direction is primarily southerly or westerly, influenced by tidal conditions and wind.

Location

Drejet is located approximately 6 km from Faaborg, accessible via Knoldsvej, a side road off Dyreborgvej. Parking and access to the beach are available via Knoldsvej. Public toilet facilities are located immediately behind the beach.

Facilities

Public toilet building immediately behind the beach. Picnic tables and benches along the beach. Two bathing piers: a northern pier approximately 30 meters long and a southern pier approximately 20 meters long, both owned by the property owners' association. A slipway near the southern pier.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified based on microbiological bathing water data from the four most recent bathing seasons. Risk of pollution is assessed as low. The Faaborg treatment plant discharges wastewater through a pipeline ending at 20 meters depth in an area with strong water circulation; no pollution linked to this discharge has been detected. The summer house area and surrounding catchment are connected to sewerage systems with no overflow risk.

Risks

Small quantities of seaweed have been observed. Risk of cyanobacteria is low, with no major blooms observed in the past five years. Potential pollution sources include field drainage north of the beach, though no clear connection to heavy rainfall has been documented. Large-scale livestock farming operations present potential risk from manure tank accidents or manure spreading, though incidents affecting bathing water quality have not been recorded; manure spreading typically occurs outside the bathing season. Occasional pollution from glass, oil, and litter is possible.
