Klinten is a bathing beach located approximately 1 kilometre southeast of Faaborg town centre in Denmark, facing southwest towards Faaborg Fjord. The beach is approximately 200–250 metres long and composed of fine white sand, with a width of 20–25 metres at its widest point and a gradual slope towards the water. Water depth increases gradually, reaching approximately 1.5 metres after about 22 metres from the shore. A bathing pontoon with a diving tower is anchored approximately 70 metres from the coast.

Water

Faaborg Fjord, part of the South Funen Archipelago. The beach is 200–250 metres long and 20–25 metres wide at its broadest point. Water depth reaches approximately 1.5 metres after 22 metres from the shore. A sandy bottom with occasional seaweed growth is present east of the bathing jetty.

Location

Klinten is located approximately 1 kilometre southeast of Faaborg town centre. Access is via Svendborgvej. A staircase provides access near Feriecenter Klinten to the southeast. Benches and tables are available on the beach and adjacent grass area, along with a playground.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified based on microbiological bathing water data from the four most recent bathing seasons. Based on the latest two years of analysis results, the municipality assessed the risk of poor bathing water as low. However, poor water quality may occur after heavy rainfall exceeding 5 millimetres per hour. The municipality monitors bathing water quality through ongoing measurements in the primary bathing area.

Risks

Sewage overflow from the combined sewer system during heavy rainfall may affect water quality. Overflows from Sundrenden discharge approximately 900 metres northwest of Klinten. Risk of poor water quality is possible after heavy rainstorms exceeding 5 millimetres per hour, typically lasting 1–2 days. The risk of cyanobacteria blooms is low, with no observations recorded in the past five years. The risk of seaweed accumulation is low, with no significant occurrences observed in the past five years.
