Sinebjerg is a bathing beach located approximately 5 km from Faaborg in southern Funen, Denmark, facing the South Funen Archipelago. The beach stretches 400 metres and consists of larger and smaller stones, with a width of approximately 10 metres at its widest point and a relatively steep slope towards the water. The seabed is characterised by large stones and seaweed, with sand appearing around 11 metres from shore. Bathing piers 10-15 metres long allow swimmers to avoid stones and seaweed belts.

Water

Coastal waters of the South Funen Archipelago. The beach is 400 metres long. Water depth is approximately 1 metre at 11 metres from shore, and approximately 1.5 metres at 16 metres from shore.

Location

Sinebjerg is situated approximately 5 km by road from Faaborg. Access to the beach is via Sinebjergvej, reached through Kirkevej via Hornelandevej. Tables and benches are positioned along the coast.

Water Quality

Water quality classification is based on microbiological bathing water data from the most recent four bathing seasons. The municipality monitors water quality through regular measurements at the primary bathing area. Results are published on the municipal website.

Risks

Large livestock farms in the area pose a potential pollution risk through accidental manure tank ruptures or manure spreading, though the municipality assesses this risk as very low. Minor seaweed and plankton accumulations have been observed during bathing seasons. Glass shards, oil pollution, and waste occasionally occur. No cyanobacteria blooms, surface layers, or foam have been observed within the past five years.
