Esrum Sø at Nødebo syd is a small bathing area located along Holtvej in the forest near Nødebo. The beach consists of a narrow sand strip approximately 50 meters long and 2 meters wide at the bottom of a small bay. The water is shallow with a sand bottom and is freshwater with no currents. The surrounding landscape includes forest along the sides and a meadow behind the beach.

Freshwater lake (Esrum Sø). Beach length approximately 50 meters, width approximately 2 meters. Shallow water with sand bottom. No currents. Limited wave action.

Nødebo syd, accessed via forest path from Nødebovej. Nødebo town is located to the north. No parking facilities available.

Facilities

Picnic area with table and bench set on the meadow. No lifeguards, no bathing jetty, no toilet facilities, no shower facilities, no disabled access facilities, no parking.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. Monitoring station 219-527 with 10 samples per bathing season. No discharge outlets identified.

Risks

High risk of cyanobacteria blooms, particularly during extended periods of calm warm weather in hot summers. Risk of phytoplankton blooms. Risk of swimmer's itch infection caused by parasitic flatworm larvae, a concern in lakes with high waterfowl populations. Larval penetration of skin can cause irritation and inflammation lasting from several days to several weeks.
