Water temperature ranges from 13.8 to 23.5 degrees Celsius (average 20.44°C). pH value ranges from 7.56 to 7.83 (average 7.73). Conductivity ranges from 880 to 994 µS/cm (average 917.8 µS/cm). Water transparency averages 1.78 metres. The lake is mesotrophic with sandy substrate and stratified water body structure.

Location

The lake is located in Alpen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The bathing area extends approximately 500 metres along the shoreline. Parking and facilities including snack bar and toilet facilities are available.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: excellent (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023). No relevant pollution sources have been identified. Cyanobacteria blooms have not been observed in the past four years, with the risk of future mass development assessed as low. Macroalgae and phytoplankton risks are both assessed as low.
