Hasle Havnebad

Hasle Havnebad is a bathing facility on Bornholm's west coast that opened in 2013. It consists of a floating platform of 425 square metres containing two basins of approximately 20 and 80 square metres with depths between 0.5 and 1 metre. The platform features stepped formations with the highest reaching 6 metres, offering diving opportunities into water deeper than 2 metres. Water exchange occurs through gaps in the basin floor lamellae.

Water

Sheltered harbour location with stable salinity between 7 and 8 ‰. Small current speeds generally occur, and wave breakers protect the bathing area. The facility is located inside the harbour itself.

Location

Located in Hasle Harbour on Bornholm's west coast. Access is via Havnen past Hasle Havnegrill south of Hasle Marina. Parking is available on the quay behind Hasle Havnegrill. The bathing platform is connected to land by a 25-metre ramp to the harbour pier, which is accessible for wheelchair users.

Facilities

Sauna building with toilets and covered changing room. Life ring present. Defibrillator installed at Hasle Sailing Club. Accessible ramp for wheelchair users and people with mobility difficulties.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as 'excellent' based on data from 2016–2019. Multiple years of monitoring data from the municipal control station show particularly good water quality. An additional control point was established in 2017 in the larger basin for enhanced monitoring.

Risks

Cyanobacteria blooms occur annually in the Baltic Sea around Bornholm, typically in July–August during warm, sunny, windless periods. These algae can produce toxic substances. Caution is advised to avoid ingestion, and young children and dogs should not bathe where dense algae accumulations are visible. The risk of problematic seaweed at the harbour bathing area is relatively low.
