A 4.5 km sandy beach located immediately north of Rønne between Næbbe Odde and Nyker Rev on the island of Bornholm. The beach is predominantly sand with some stony sections interspersed throughout. Water depth increases gradually from the shore to 2 meters approximately 100 meters from land, though sandstone formations create abrupt depth changes in places. The beach continues north toward Hasle Syd and is affected by wind-driven currents, particularly during strong onshore winds.

Water

Coastal Baltic Sea water with stable salinity between 7 and 8 ‰. Water depth increases gradually to 2 meters at approximately 100 meters from shore. Sandstone formations create varying depth characteristics. Current direction and speed depend on wind conditions, generally small except during strong winds.

Location

North of Rønne, between Næbbe Odde and Nyker Rev. Southern access via Haslevej and Antoinettevej; northern access via Nyker Strandvej and Havvej. Multiple parking areas near the beach. Public toilets at Antoinette and near the parking area at Havvej.

Facilities

Four rescue posts (numbered R 020, R 024, R 028, and R 030) distributed along the beach. Public toilets at Antoinette and at the parking area near Havvej.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as excellent based on monitoring data from 2016–2019. Long-term data from municipal control stations shows good water quality at the beach. A sewage overflow from the wastewater system serving Hasle is located at Blykobbe Å approximately 200 meters from shore at 6 meters depth; estimated to discharge polluted stormwater approximately twice annually during heavy rainfall.

Risks

Strong sandstone formations create unpredictable current conditions during strong onshore winds; bathing is not recommended during such conditions. Blue-green algae blooms (Nodularia spumigena, Aphanizomenon flos-aqua) occur naturally in the Baltic Sea around Bornholm during warm months (July–August), particularly in calm, sunny periods, forming unpleasant accumulations along exposed coasts. Algae can produce toxic substances; wading through algae to reach clear water poses no risk, but ingestion should be avoided. Small children and dogs should not bathe where algae are abundant. Periodic accumulations of seaweed and other macroalgae may wash ashore and cause odor.
