Inatel-Albufeira is a coastal bathing water located on an urban beach with intensive use in Albufeira. The beach features long stretches of golden sand with a length of 274 metres, surrounded by steep cliffs. Rock formations are present to the east. The tidal range is 3.4 metres with mean wave height of 0.5 metres, and the predominant wind direction is east to southeast.

Microbiological contamination may occur due to malfunction of sanitation infrastructures or rainwater collection systems, or during heavy rainfall events that cause surface run-off or overflows. Bathing was advised against or prohibited on 3 days in 2024 due to short-term pollution events.
