Kongsøre Skov is a small sandy beach located on the Bråde Peninsula in a forested area. The bathing spot is approximately 140 meters long and comprises sand and grass areas. The water is brackish, a mixture of salt and fresh water. The beach has been classified as excellent quality based on data from 2016–2019.

Water

Brackish water (mixture of salt and fresh water). Water depth exceeds 1 meter at the sampling point near the pier. Approximately 60 meters from shore reaches 2 meters depth. Current direction typically varies between south and west.

Location

The beach is accessed via Sandskredsvej. A parking area is located at the end of the road with rubbish bins, an information board, toilets, and a disabled toilet. The beach is situated in a wooded area.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2019, based on 2016–2019 data). One recorded exceedance occurred in 2015. No registered discharge outlets near the bathing spot. At low pollution concentrations, typical duration in summer is short (1–3 days, depending on weather, current, and wind).

Risks

Risk of cyanobacteria and phytoplankton growth is low. Risk of macroalgae growth is medium. Swimming is not recommended if water is unclear and feet cannot be seen at knee depth. Glass shards, litter, and chemical pollution including oil spills can occasionally occur. Bathing is discouraged near washed-up algae due to potential toxins and bacteria.
