The Rabais Pond bathing area is located in Virton, Belgium, in the Semois-Chiers hydrographic sub-basin. It was officially designated as a bathing zone on 25 October 1990. The pond covers 24.19 hectares with a beach length of 9 metres and water depth ranging from 0.30 to 3.70 metres. The pond bottom is homogeneous, characterised by mud. An information panel installed since 2008 informs swimmers of bathing authorisation and displays a small window for bacteriological quality information.

Water

Pond (étang) with a surface area of 24.19 hectares. Water depth ranges from a minimum of 0.30 metres to a maximum of 3.70 metres. The pond bottom is characterised by mud (vase). Beach length: 9 metres. Artificial berges at the beach level and natural herbaceous berges around the pond.

Water Quality

The bathing zone is managed for water quality by the Direction Générale opérationnelle Agriculture, Ressources naturelles et Environnement (D.G.A.R.N.E.). Bacteriological monitoring is conducted with results displayed on the information panel. The water body belongs to the SC02R water mass (Ton I) within the International Hydrographic District of the Meuse.
