Lendrup Strand is a sandy beach approximately 700 metres long located west of a summer house area in Denmark. The beach width varies from about 20 metres in the south to approximately 40 metres in the north, with the seabed consisting almost entirely of sand. The water is classified as excellent bathing water based on four years of analysis results.

Water

Sandy beach approximately 700 metres long. Beach width varies from 20 metres in the south to 40 metres in the north. The seabed consists almost entirely of sand. Current is typically light and generally follows wind direction.

Location

Located west of the summer house area at Lendrup Strand, immediately south of Frederik VII Canal's southern termination. A parking area is available at the entrance to the area for beach visitors.

Water Quality

Water is classified as excellent bathing water. Analysis results show consistent excellent quality results. No faecal pollution sources are present. Pollution from bathers or from surrounding properties and agricultural land is not considered to have significant impact on water quality.

Risks

Blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) blooms are not known to have occurred in recent times. Risk of phytoplankton growth is assessed as very small. Macroalgae (seaweed) rarely occurs in large quantities, though it may wash ashore occasionally. If large quantities of seaweed appear in the water or at the shoreline, bathing is not recommended.
