Løjt Feriecenter is a bathing beach approximately 300 metres long and 15–18 metres wide, located on the northern side of Løjt Land. The beach features fine sand areas between stone breakwaters with a sandy seabed. Water depth remains under 5 metres up to approximately 130 metres from the shoreline. The beach has been classified as excellent quality based on control samples taken regularly from 2019 to 2022. The beach is registered as a Blue Flag beach and meets the required standards for this designation.

Water

Location

The beach is located on the northern side of Løjt Land in connection with Løjt Feriecenter. A parking area is available at the holiday centre approximately 180 metres from the beach. Toilets, telephones, tables and benches are accessible at the swimming pool approximately 650 metres from the beach.

1 June to 15 September.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. Classification is based on control samples taken regularly during 2019–2022. Faecal bacterial concentrations are very low. The area is sewered with no known direct discharge from drains or watercourses at the beach. The region's contribution to pollution is assessed as low. Pollution risk is highest during strong winds and heavy rain, though any resulting contamination is typically short-lived, lasting no more than 3 days.

Risks

Cyanobacteria blooms can occur, typically after periods of heavy rain followed by warm weather, indicated by discoloured water, foam formation, or dead animals. Large quantities of macroalgae (seaweed) can accumulate at the water's edge; bathing is not recommended near large seaweed deposits due to potential toxin production in decaying matter and protection of disease-causing bacteria from UV radiation. Glass, litter, and chemical pollution including oil spills can occasionally occur. Sudden contamination may result from accidents involving pleasure boats, slurry tanks, and sewage pipes.
