Loukos tou Manti is a small rocky beach located west of the Agia Napa fishing harbour in Cyprus. The beach features beachrock formations with limited sandy areas and a natural shoreline. Vegetation is sparse, consisting of low shrubs and some scattered trees including pines and palms. The beach is equipped with public facilities and has been designated with Blue Flag status. Water quality at this bathing site has been classified as excellent based on long-term monitoring data.

Water

Marine water body named Agia Napa. Beach length: 140 metres. Average water depth: 0.7 metres. Maximum water depth: 2 metres. The shoreline is primarily composed of beachrock formations. A small platform is present in the central-western section of the shallow water zone.

Location

Located in Agia Napa municipality, Famagusta district, Cyprus, west of Agia Napa fishing harbour. Coordinates: 33.9983°E, 34.9822°N (ETRS89 reference system). A pedestrian walkway runs along the beach separating it from residential areas inland.

Facilities

Blue Flag designated beach. Public toilets and changing rooms available. Umbrellas and sunbeds offered for rent. Waste collection bins provided. Beach cleaning maintained by Agia Napa Municipality. Lifeguard services with rescue equipment available daily from 10:00 to 18:00. No water sports services offered. Maximum daily bather capacity: 250.

Season

Monitored during bathing periods 2008–2010 and continuing. Southwestern winds predominate in the region during the swimming season.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as excellent based on monitoring data from 2004 onwards. The coastal water body is in good ecological status. No eutrophication events were recorded at monitoring stations during the 2004–2007 monitoring period. Moderate risk of macroalgae and phytoplankton development has been identified, with occasional Cladophora spp. recorded in the adjacent fishing harbour area.

Risks

Moderate risk of macroalgae and phytoplankton development. Short-term pollution risk is negligible. Potential sources of short-term pollution are passing and moored vessels, expected to occur approximately once per swimming season with duration of 1–2 days. Urban stormwater runoff is a potential pollution source, though no storm drain outlet discharges directly into the bathing area.
