Mikkelborg is a bathing area located along the coast near Rungsted. Swimming is permitted in selected areas around parking lots and from a small beach meadow below Mikkelborg Park. The seabed alternates between sand, gravel, and stones with patches of soft bottom. Shallow water is common, with a depth of 2 metres reached approximately 100 metres from the shore. Water current is weak or stagnant.

Location

Mikkelborg, accessible via bus 388 on Rungsted Strandvej. Swimming areas are located around designated parking areas and at the small beach meadow below Mikkelborg Park.

Water Quality

Water quality is monitored via the bathing water model at badevand.dk. At least 10 water quality samples are collected during the bathing season from June to August.

Risks

Sewer overflows may occur along the coast during heavy rainfall. Blue-green algae risk exists when water temperature is high (approximately 20°C) for prolonged periods. Do not bathe if feet cannot be seen when water reaches knee depth.
