The beach has a sandy bottom with weak currents predominantly flowing from south to north. Salinity ranges from 10 to 20 ppt. The water quality is classified as satisfactory based on monitoring data from 2013 to 2016.

Location

Kokkedal, at Strandvejen 332, 2980 Kokkedal. Parking is available at Mikkelborg Strandpark. Access is from the parking area at Mikkelborg Strandpark. Bus 388 serves the area, stopping at Lågegyde.

Facilities

Bathing jetty present. No lifeguards. No disabled access facilities.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as satisfactory. Ten water samples are collected across the bathing season from 1 June to 31 August. The water quality data from 2013 to 2016 supported this classification. Historical classifications for 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 were all excellent.

Risks

Risk of faecal bacterial contamination from combined sewer overflows in Hørsholm Municipality during heavy rainfall, with potential temporary water pollution for up to 2 days after the event. Risk of cyanobacteria growth during extended periods of high water temperature. Only minor growth of seaweed within 4 metres of the water level.
