Mixoudkia 1 is a narrow sandy beach located within two small artificial coves on the eastern coast of Limassol, Cyprus. The beach is bounded by two stabilising breakwaters constructed from natural boulders, with an additional central breakwater creating two artificial coves. The beach measures 165 metres in length with an average water depth of 1.5 metres and maximum depth of 3 metres. The sandy seabed consists of uniform grain composition. The area experiences significant tourist development, with a hotel complex occupying part of the coastal zone.

Water

Coastal water body (Lemesós Ανατολικά). Length: 165 metres. Average depth: 1.5 metres. Maximum depth: 3 metres. Sandy seabed with uniform grain composition. Located within a larger hydrological basin with average elevation of 438.2 metres and mean annual surface rainfall of 534.7 millimetres.

Location

Eastern Limassol (Lemesós Ανατολικά), Germasogeia Municipality, Limassol Province, Cyprus. Coordinates: 33.0956°E, 34.6971°N (ETRS89).

Facilities

Rubbish collection bins along the entire beach length. Toilets available through the adjacent hotel complex. Sunbeds and umbrellas offered during summer season. No public facilities dedicated to general public use.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as excellent based on monitoring data. The coastal water body is in good ecological status. Monitoring reports prepared annually since Cyprus's accession to the European Union in 2004. One short-term pollution incident recorded between 2008 and 2010 (5 May 2009), attributed to weather conditions (storm).

Risks

Low risk of macroalgae and phytoplankton eutrophication. Small risk of short-term pollution occurrence. Possible pollution sources include passage of commercial vessels offshore and mooring and transit of recreational vessels in western and eastern sections. Stormwater runoff and passing vessels identified as probable sources of short-term pollution.
